Declaration of Peace

We understand that wars and militarism make us less safe rather than protect us, that they kill, injure and traumatize adults, children and infants, severely damage the natural environment, erode civil liberties, and drain our economies, siphoning resources from life-affirming activities. We commit to engage in and support nonviolent efforts to end all war and preparations for war and to create a sustainable and just peace.

We will ask other individuals and organizations to join this network. We will spread the word within our organization. We will participate in plans, decisions, and work of this campaign. We will lobby elected officials. We will work on media outreach. We will be available to speak publicly on this issue. We will work on research, fact sheets, articles. We will help with the website if needed. We will donate financial support. We will participate in nonviolent demonstrations. We will engage in nonviolent civil resistance to wars and militarism.
